Theatre of Putbus
THEATRE PUTBUSBy founding the royal residence town of Putbus, Prince Wilhelm Malte zu Putbus (1783-1854), created a memorial for himself. The white town with the spacious parklands is the reality turned Italian dream of an educated ruler who was also an expert in the arts .A dominant building within the town ensemble is the Theatre, built in classical style, and opened in 1821. Outstandingly well restored (1992-1998) it is not only an example of the theatre architecture of its time, it is also, thanks to excellent acoustic and modern technical equipment, a lively venue with some 160 events per year, setting high standards in the world of performing arts.

"Rasender Roland"
The Rügensche Kleinbahn GmbH & Co. The steam train "Rasender Roland" is a distinctive feature of the tourist attractions of Rügen. With its track gauge of only 750 Millimetres, this small railway enables access to the most well known resorts in the south east of the island. Family- and group friendly tariff, the transport of bicycles, special trains, training opportunities to be an honoured engine driver and the nowadays more rarely seen flair of a classic steam railway, makes the ride with the Rasender Roland a real attraction

Drag-hunting behind the Mecklenburger hounds
In September, the actor and horse-riding fan Till Demtrøder ("Hallo Robbie", "Großstadtrevier") hosted a traditional and bloodless drag-hunt following a pack of hounds, for the second time. At this special lifestyle-event, celebrities from TV, business, politics, and culture as well as countless horse and dog lovers met on the Isle of Rügen. The island; a place with the most wonderful countryside, offered the ideal setting for this special event.
On 22. September 2007 at 11.00 am, the hunt commenced with the rendezvous in the Schlosspark at the historic Marstall (royal stables) in Putbus. The hunt ended at 4.30 pm, again at the Marstall, with the "Halali" ( the traditional call to signify the end of the hunt) .
On Sunday 23. September 2007 there was a chance to see the horses and dogs of the drag hunt on the beach, in front of the Kurhaus at Binz.
