Geographical situation

The town of Putbus lies in the southern part if the Isle of Rügen. The neighbouring towns are the main district town of Bergen, which is situated 8km north of Putbus, and Garz , situated west of Putbus. There are 30 urban districts belonging to Putbus, many of them lying directly on the Greifswalder Bodden. The coastline of Putbus stretches from Rosengarten to the end of the Bay of Stresow, which lies on the western border on Mönchgut. The districts have a rural village character. Starting in Sellin, the Deutsche Alleenstraße runs through the town. The town of Putbus is easily reached by frequent public transport or by private cars. The possibility to travel by boat across the Lauterbasch harbour is very much enjoyed by our guests. The continuous cycle track network around Putbus offers the chance to use the cycle track network of the whole of the Isle of Rügen. The Baltic bathing resorts are easily reached by car in 20 to 30 minutes.
